Industrial Sensors

H-350 LITE Pressure Measurement SensorSemrad Pty Ltd has produced hundreds of industrial process, municipal and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) solutions, with expertise in level switches, sensors and transmitters for harsh acid, caustic and chemical environments. Their broad range of sensing technologies provide complete application coverage with unmatched user flexibility. Their precision instruments can be applied in most liquid and bulk solids process industries, such as semiconductor, chemical, water, wastewater, mining, metal finishing, beverage, electronic, material handling, agricultural, paper, textile, pharmaceutical, medical and environmental.

With unparalleled hands-on experience, Semrad’s engineers can assist you in the selection and process integration of our equipment. These include configurations ranging from general purpose, to hazardous, non-contact and invasive, with a variety of relay controller and installation accessories.

WaterLOG ® Sensors

Dual Interface Shaft EncoderThe WaterLOG® H-350-LITE is a NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable pressure reference with accuracy better than 0.02% FSO (Full Scale Output). This unit combines high accuracy and low cost, and the only choice  for replacing mercury manometers. It feaures a SDI-12 sensor, built in temperature compensation, an operating temperature range of -40 to +60° C and the ability to directly interface with Sutron 8004 DCP. The accuracy drift is less than ± 0.05% of FSO per year and its response time is a 16 second measurement sequence.

The WaterLOG® H-330 is a digital shaft encoder that measures water level by monitoring the angular position of a shaft. It is suitable for measuring water levels utilizing a float and pully system, and works with any SDI-12 data recorder. It is battery powered with minimal current drain and low system cost. With magnetic sensing the static sensitivity is minimised and it has multiple sensors on a simple three-wire cable. It also has a sealed precision dual bearing design with special low temperature lubricant, a threaded shaft compatible with older mechanical shaft encoder wheels, no backlash and a built in transient over voltage protection circuitry.

Semrad Pty Ltd

Semrad Pty LtdSemrad Pty Ltd is a leading Australian distributor of level switches and sensors, transmitters, indicators, gauges and water management precision instruments. Their products are specifically designed for harsh industrial applications, including caustic, acid and chemical solutions. The company is dedicated to providing the most cost effective and technically advanced solutions for the measurement and control of liquid and bulksolids levels.

Their sensing technologies include untrasonic, RF capacitance, magnetic float, hydrostatic, nuclear, conductivity, radar, vibration and buoyancy. Semrad offers a range of water management sensors from submersible pressure transducers to inclinometers, shaft encoders and rain gauges.

Environmental Sensors

Linear Cable Extension TransducerThe WaterLOG® H-335 is a precision inclinometer that works with any SDI-12 data recorder and can be interfaced with SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). It is a single axis, wide range inclinometer which measures the angle of radial water control gates. It easily attaches to the I-beam of the gate structure, has built in intelligence that automatically calculates both gate height and arc length, and has a 0.03° accuracy over the full position and temperature range. It scales the gate position into user units of feet, inches, meters and so on, has no hysteresis or backlash, no moving parts or bearings, and a low system cost. Easy to install, it eliminates the need for shaft encoders, gears, chains and other non-linear measurement schemes.

The WaterLOG® H-336 is a SDI-12 digital linear cable extension position transducer that measures distances by monitoring the amount of cable extended from the unit. It can measure the position of slide gates, canal gates and other linear mechanisms. The cable is made from flexible stainless steel and has a precision spring-loaded spool. The sealed enclosure protects the electronics from moisture and dirt and the water resistant connector provides easy hookup. The output is easily scaled into user units of feet, inches, meters, etc. The SDI-12 protocol supports multiple sensors on a simple three-wire cable.

Sensors with Data Loggers

Sensors and Loggers

Fuel sensorsSensors are used to measure quantities and convert it into a signal which can then be recorded by a data logger. The measurements are then interpreted locally or at a remote location, depending on the interface. Sensors are used in many applications, from common everyday objects such as touch-sensitive lamps to fuel gauges, as well as more specialised applications such as water management and meteorological functions.

A sensor’s sensitivity indicates how much the sensor’s output changes when the measured quantity changes, so sensors that measure very small changes have very high sensitivities. These changes can be measured continuously or at certain determined points.

WATERLOG® DH-21 and H-510

WaterLOG DH-21The DH-21 consists of a H-310 sensor combined with data logger and software. The sensor is a submersible pressure transducer (device that converts a physical attribute like pressure into a digital signal for the purpose of collecting measurement data). It is designed to let the user monitor ground water, test wells, measure surface water and gauge streams.

The DH-21 features flash memory for data storage, five different logging modes, a ‘point and click’ software interface, capability to store 43, 688 data points (upgradeable to 174, 752), and the choice to display data graphically or in tabular form. It is a rugged device designed to be immune from corrosion, important when leaving it for long periods in remote areas. It takes user changeable long life lithium batteries, with an external 12-volt power option. It has on-site auto-zeroing command and automatic media density correction,  fits 2″ or larder well bores and a field spliceable vented cable.

The H-510 is designed to replace ADRs and other shaft encoder systems, consisting of a self-contained shaft encoder with SDI-12 data logger. It can interface with analog sensors, GOES transmitters, SDI-12 sensors, telemetry systems and modems.

It features a nonvolatile FLASH memory card, auto-offset, built-in keyboard and display, and accepts analog and event inputs using optional ‘Side-Kick’ modules.
